While not overwhelmingly powerful, accessing this boss fight is a complex process that requires dedication and precision. Here's everything you need to know to unlock and defeat GIGAS.

Unlocking the Secret Boss GIGAS
To face GIGAS, you must first maximize your connection level with the character known as the Ghost Hunter. This means getting your relationship rank as close to level 5 as possible. To achieve this, you’ll need to complete a series of side quests tied specifically to the Ghost Hunter.
However, unlike other NPCs in the game, Ghost Hunter’s missions don’t always appear right away. Many of them are time-sensitive and only become available after completing other tasks or simply waiting.
How to Locate the Ghost Hunter
Follow these steps to access the Ghost Hunter’s base and start progressing toward the GIGAS fight:
Reach Chapter 8 of the main story.
At the Chronobiologist’s camp, craft special EX Capture Bombs, which are essential for summoning certain BTs.
Head north along a sloped path from the camp to discover the Ghost Hunter’s hidden outpost.
Once unlocked, the Ghost Hunter will start offering missions through the following locations:
- Heartman’s Lab
- The Pioneer
- The Mechanic
- Eastern Environmental Observatory
Keep checking these hubs regularly, as the missions may take time to appear.
The Secret Boss Mission: Save Terminal Fort Knot from a Voidout
Once your bond with the Ghost Hunter is strong enough, he will assign you a mission titled "Save Terminal Fort Knot from a Voidout". You can use the in-game fast travel system to reach the mission site quickly.
Upon arrival, you’ll need EX Capture Bombs to summon GIGAS. Once summoned, the boss will appear in an intimidating form. During the fight, the goal is to reduce GIGAS’s health to the red zone. Be cautious not to let your summoned BT accidentally kill him. When GIGAS starts levitating a visual cue of vulnerability throw another EX Bomb to crystallize him and complete the capture.

Successfully completing the mission will earn you exclusive rewards from the Ghost Hunter, including:
- A custom Low Roar soundtrack
- A unique hologram
- A special backpack design
